Welcome to Loogootee Indiana

Loogootee is an incorporated city located in beautiful Martin County, Indiana. Founded in 1853, Loogootee has a current population of 2730 residents including special people like Coach Jack Butcher, who served as Indiana’s All Time Most Winning High School Boys Basketball Coach from 2003-2019. Visitors to the City of Loogootee can visit Jack Butcher Arena, which seats more than 4,000 people.

Loogootee is less than 5 minutes away from West Boggs park, a 630-acre facility that offers outdoor activities including boating, camping, fishing, and swimming. Within our city limits, we also offer a variety of options for recreation including a city pool and park, and eighteen establishments for dining out for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Loogootee Community School Corporation offers Project Lead the Way for grades K-12, and we’re proud to be one of the smallest school systems in the state to do so. Loogootee is a faith-based community with 12 churches, and prioritizes healthcare with two clinics, two pharmacies, and a long-term care facility.

Come see how Loogootee offers the amenities of today and the friendly, small community atmosphere of yesterday!
